The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors has approved $750,000 in emergency funding to repair a recycled water line leak and sinkhole near Schell Creek.
According to the Press Democrat, the rupture, which occurred New Year’s Eve, is currently being monitored by Sonoma Water and PG&E, as a high-pressure gas line is located near the site of the damage.
Crews have isolated the line but face challenges with tidal flooding at the site; officials hope to complete repairs by early spring to ensure local farmers have water for frost protection.
