Third Proposal Submitted For Subdivision Near Point Reyes Station

A San Diego developer has submitted a third proposal for a subdivision near Point Reyes Station, now calling for 67 parcels including 61 market-rate homes and 22 affordable units.

The Marin Independent Journal reports, the revised plan includes new community wastewater systems, but local residents and planners remain concerned the project could double the town’s population and strain local water resources.

While the developer promises to build the affordable housing first, critics argue the “suburban tract” design ignores the area’s rural character and relies on state law to bypass local building standards.
