After a massive effort to repair two separate storm-related landslides, Cavedale Road is officially set to reopen.
Sonoma County officials will mark the occasion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony this Friday, January 9, at 1:30 p.m. at the site of the new retaining wall.
The project involved deep excavation, steel reinforcements, and new drainage systems to make the road more resilient against future severe weather. Board Chair Rebecca Hermosillo noted that the reopening restores a vital route for both residents and emergency services.
This follows several other recent road recoveries in the county, including Westside and North Fitch Mountain roads.
