Richmond Man Sentenced To 5 Years In Sonoma County Jail For String Of Retail Thefts

A Richmond man has been sentenced to five years in prison following a massive retail theft investigation that spanned eleven California counties.

The Press Democrat reports 42-year-old Shawn Naputi was linked to over 80 thefts totaling $80,000 in stolen goods after an initial arrest at Friedman’s Home Improvement in Santa Rosa.

District Attorney Carla Rodriguez credited the office’s Organized Retail Theft Unit for the conviction, emphasizing that those targeting local retailers will face significant consequences.
