Sentencing has been delayed for a former Rohnert Park police officer convicted of posing as a federal agent to steal cash and cannabis from drivers.
Joseph Huffaker appeared in federal court Wednesday, where a judge granted a reprieve to allow him time to find a new attorney. Huffaker was part of a defunct drug interdiction team that targeted drivers along Highway 101.
While prosecutors are seeking more than five years in prison, Huffaker’s team is pushing for home confinement.
Sentencing is now tentatively set for February 4th.
