Napa County Reports First Measles Case In 15 Years

For the first time in nearly 15 years, measles has returned to Napa County.

Public health officials confirmed the case this week, involving an unvaccinated child who recently returned from a trip to South Carolina. Fortunately, the child is experiencing only mild symptoms and is currently recovering at home under the care of the Napa County Health and Human Services Agency.

While measles outbreaks are currently causing concern in several other states, Napa County health experts are reassuring the public that this appears to be an isolated incident. They have stated there is no immediate threat to the general population, though the case serves as a stark reminder of the virus’s ability to travel across state lines.
