Santa Rosa Apartment Fire Caused By Unattended Candles

Unattended candles are being blamed for an apartment fire in Santa Rosa that caused fifty-thousand dollars in damage Friday evening.

Fire crews were called to a complex on the two-thousand block of Range Avenue just after 5 p.m. after smoke was spotted on the third floor. Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke pouring from one unit, but they were able to bring the flames under control in less than ten minutes.

While no one was injured and the fire was contained to a single unit, officials have declared that apartment uninhabitable. Fire investigators say the blaze is a stark reminder to never leave burning candles unattended.
