Supervisorial Candidates To Face Voters During Santa Rosa Town Hall Tomorrow Night

Two of the three candidates vying for Sonoma County’s 4th District supervisor seat will face voters Tuesday night at a town hall in Santa Rosa.

According to the Press Democrat, former Santa Rosa Mayor Tom Schwedhelm and Cloverdale Vice Mayor Todd Lands are set to participate in the event at the Finley Community Center, hosted by the Sonoma County Republican Party. The third candidate, Melanie Bagby, declined to attend, citing the $20 ticket price as a financial barrier and a fundraiser for a partisan organization.

Though supervisorial races are nonpartisan, this is the first competitive battle for the district in a decade as the candidates look to succeed outgoing Supervisor James Gore. The town hall begins at 7 p.m., with audience questions encouraged.

The primary election is set for June 2.
