A long-time Novato police officer, Kendrick Pilegaard, has officially lost his law enforcement certification following a pair of DUI incidents.
Per the Marin Independent Journal, state investigators say Pilegaard was involved in a 2021 rollover crash with a blood-alcohol level nearly three times the legal limit, followed by a second arrest in 2023 while speeding toward Arizona with a firearm and a bottle of vodka in his car.
Pilegaard resigned during an internal investigation and failed to fight the state’s decertification process, meaning he is now permanently barred from working as a peace officer in California.
