A crowd of several hundred gathered in the rain outside Santa Rosa’s VA clinic Tuesday to hold a somber vigil for Alex Pretti, the Minneapolis ICU nurse killed by federal agents last weekend.
The Press Democrat reports the event was organized by local veterans and federal employee unions, and honored Pretti’s life of service to fellow veterans while calling for an end to the recent surge in federal enforcement violence.
The Santa Rosa gathering joins a massive wave of nationwide memorials, as communities across the country unite to demand accountability for Pretti and others killed in recent weeks.
