The Petaluma community is mourning the loss of Michael McCallister, a beloved local figure and co-founder of the Westridge Park community garden, who tragically died in a head-on collision on Old Adobe Road late last month.
According to the Petaluma Argus Courier, he was known for his quick wit and love for his family, the 69-year-old was a fixture in the local gardening and Little League scenes; his family says the outpouring of support from neighbors has been truly heartwarming during this difficult time.
A memorial service is set for this Friday afternoon at St. Vincent de Paul Church, followed by a potluck at the very community garden he helped build—and everyone who knew him is invited to attend.
