The Sonoma County Registrar of Voters has officially left the main county campus, opening its doors this week at a brand-new, remodeled headquarters near the airport on Brickway Boulevard.
Per the Press Democrat, the $47 million move provides much-needed space for a second ballot sorter and features a 90-foot viewing corridor, giving the public a front-row seat to watch election processing for the upcoming June primary.
This is just the first phase of a major real estate shift for the county; departments like Permit Sonoma and the Tax Collector are expected to follow the Registrar to the new North Santa Rosa location over the next year.
