A bold move by a bystander helped thwart an armed robbery at a Petaluma jewelry store this past weekend.
Police say six masked suspects were in the middle of robbing Gold Rush Jewelers when a witness jumped into the suspects’ own getaway car and rammed it into the storefront to trap them inside.
The robbers managed to flee the scene, but two 18-year-old suspects were later captured with the help of a sheriff’s helicopter—and police say the heroic bystander is not facing any charges.
