Sonoma County Supervisors met in Sonoma this week to hear directly from residents about the valley’s most pressing needs, from food insecurity to the future of the Sonoma Developmental Center.
The Sonoma Index-Tribune reports a major highlight of the meeting was the unanimous approval of a new centralized health hub on Lomita Avenue, which will expand mental health and homelessness services starting this summer.
However, the board also heard sobering testimony about local economic struggles, including a study revealing that one in five Sonoma Valley residents currently faces food insecurity.
