A Petaluma man is back behind bars after leading police on a high-speed chase through residential streets with a blood-alcohol level more than two and a half times the legal limit.
The Petaluma Argus-Courier reports officers originally found 35-year-old Connor Derby slumped over his steering wheel Tuesday evening, but he sped off as soon as they approached, only stopping after police used a tire deflation device to blow out one of his tires.
Derby, who was already on probation for multiple prior DUI convictions, now faces fresh felony charges for evading officers and driving with a suspended license.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the pursuit.
