Santa Rosa police have arrested a Rohnert Park couple following a string of thefts at Oliver’s Market that uncovered a much larger identity theft operation.
Detectives identified 38-year-old Cody Benson and 31-year-old Mariah McGovern as suspects after more than $1,300 in vitamins were stolen from the Montecito Boulevard store last month.
When officers raided the pair’s home Wednesday morning, they found more than just stolen vitamins—they discovered the personal identifying information of over 20 potential identity theft victims.
Both suspects are now facing charges of organized retail theft and conspiracy, while McGovern faces additional counts for identity theft as detectives work to contact the affected victims.
