The future of the Montaldo Apartments in Sonoma is up in the air today after developer DeNova Homes unexpectedly put the entire 50-unit project up for sale.
According to the Sonoma Index-Tribune, the site comes fully approved with entitlements for seven residential buildings, including thirteen units set aside for affordable housing, but the developer is now looking for a buyer to take over the “as-is” property.
Sonoma City Manager David Guhin says he isn’t worried about the shift, noting that any new owner will have two years to break ground before the project’s approvals expire.
