Major Milestone for Coffey Park: Hopper Avenue Rebuild Set to Start

A nearly decade-long road to recovery is reaching a major milestone as the Santa Rosa City Council approves a $4.7 million contract to fix the Hopper Avenue corridor.

This key connection between Coffey Park and Highway 101 was heavily damaged during the 2017 Tubbs Fire and the subsequent debris removal process.

The project, awarded to local firm Argonaut Contractors, will use PG&E settlement funds to transform the roadway with new bike lanes and pedestrian safety features requested by the community. As one of the city’s final major fire-recovery infrastructure projects, construction is officially slated to break ground this spring.
