Papa Johns is the latest pizza giant to announce a massive pull-back, revealing plans to close 300 underperforming stores and lay off 7% of its corporate staff by 2027.
Per the Press Democrat, the move comes after a tough fourth quarter where profits nearly halved, prompting the company to ditch slow-moving menu items like “Papadias” in favor of new toasted sandwiches to help boost sales.
While the chain hasn’t released a final hit list, North Bay fans should take note: the Santa Rosa location has already disappeared from the company’s online map. For now, the Cotati store remains open, as the company shifts its focus toward franchising and a “fleet health” overhaul to save an estimated $25 million over the next two years.
