Sonoma Scrambles to Fill Top Leadership Vacancies

The City of Sonoma is searching for new leadership as its two top administrators head for the exit.

The Sonoma Index-Tribune reports City Manager David Guhin is leaving April 5 to take over as Sonoma County’s Executive Officer. His departure follows the recent exit of Finance Director Prapti Aryal, leaving the city’s $45 million budget and 47 employees in transition.

Mayor Ron Wellander says the council will meet in closed session Wednesday to begin the hunt for an interim manager.

Officials expect the search for a permanent replacement to take up to six months, and the city may hire outside consultants to keep financial operations stable in the meantime.
