A miraculous recovery for 30 dogs in Santa Rosa tonight. The Humane Society of Sonoma County reports a 100% survival rate for a group of animals rescued from a failing Clearlake shelter.
Per the Press Democrat, the dogs, including a “gentle giant” named Biggie, arrived severely malnourished and battling a deadly parvovirus outbreak. Despite winter storms delaying critical medicine, staff and local clinics worked around the clock to save every single puppy.
With more local cities currently re-evaluating their animal service contracts, the Humane Society expects more rescues like Biggie. They are asking the community for help with donations and adoptions to keep their mission sustainable.
