Santa Rosa is grieving the unexpected loss of Kevin Konicek, a prominent attorney and fourth-generation resident who died Sunday at age 71.
Per the Press Democrat, known for his “infectious charm” and booming laugh, Konicek was a dedicated preservationist who spent years restoring his family’s historic Victorian homes in the St. Rose neighborhood.
A Stanford and Loyola Law graduate, he balanced a successful legal career with deep philanthropic roots in the local symphony and several community foundations. Friends say he lived with a “zest for life,” passing away just after celebrating the completion of a long-term home restoration project.
He is remembered as a brilliant mind and a social anchor who made everyone in the city feel like family.
