A 22-year-old Sonoma County man faces up to six years in prison after pleading no contest to vehicular manslaughter and driving without a license.
According to the Press Democrat, Aaron Rodriguez Hernandez entered the plea just days before the one-year anniversary of the high-speed crash on Montgomery Drive that killed 74-year-old Santa Rosa resident Robert “Bob” Halmayr. Police say Rodriguez was speeding through midtown when he broadsided Halmayr’s vehicle at the intersection of Farmers Lane.
Sentencing is currently scheduled for April 30 in Sonoma County Superior Court.
