A teenage boy is recovering today following a shooting accident in Mendocino County yesterday morning.
Mendocino County Sheriff’s deputies say the incident occurred just after 10:00 AM on the 3,000 block of Robinson Creek Road in Ukiah. According to investigators, a 15-year-old boy was participating in a hunting-related activity when he lost his footing. As he slipped, his .22-caliber rifle accidentally discharged.
The teen was treated at the scene before being airlifted to an out-of-county hospital for specialized care. Authorities confirm he is currently in stable condition.
