It’s the end of an era for a local favorite as Sonoma County-based Amy’s Kitchen has officially closed its final restaurant location. The vegetarian-friendly eatery at SFO shut its doors this week, following the recent closure of the original Rohnert Park drive-thru earlier this month.
The Press Democrat reports company officials say they are stepping away from the restaurant business to focus entirely on their core frozen food line and Petaluma headquarters. The closure marks a significant shift for the brand, which first branched into the fast-food scene back in 2015.
Hungry travelers won’t have to wait long for a replacement, however; the San Francisco-founded chain The Melt is scheduled to take over the Terminal 1 space later this summer.
