Petaluma City Schools has officially introduced Jen Hansen as the district’s new Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources.
According to the Petaluma Argus-Courier, Hansen, a veteran educator with over 20 years of experience in Sonoma County, stepped into the role on March 23 following her recent tenure at Santa Rosa Junior College. She joins the leadership team at a critical juncture as the district navigates six million dollars in upcoming budget cuts and a search for a new superintendent.
Superintendent Matthew Harris praised Hansen as a strategic, solutions-oriented leader known for modernizing systems and building trust through equitable hiring practices. Hansen, who also coaches high school track in Santa Rosa, says she is honored to tackle the district’s upcoming transitions.
Her extensive background in collective bargaining is expected to be a major asset for the local school community.
