Authorities are investigating a tragic accident that claimed the life of a motorcyclist in Timber Cove this past weekend.
According to the Press Democrat, the California Highway Patrol reports that a woman riding a Harley-Davidson was traveling north on Highway 1 Saturday afternoon when she lost control and overturned.
Emergency crews arrived on the scene about 20 miles north of Bodega Bay shortly after 2:30 p.m., but the rider was unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene. The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office is currently withholding her identity pending notification of her family.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash, and investigators are working to determine what caused the woman to lose control on that stretch of the coast.
