Fresh Tortilla Factory on Wheels Debuts in Sonoma

Residents can now grab steaming, house-made tortillas right from the parking lot of the Sonoma Valley Fruit Basket.

According to the Press Democrat, Tortillería Ortuño has debuted its specialized trailer, capable of churning out 3,000 corn tortillas per hour using traditional masa harina. Founder Ramiro Ortuño says the goal is to provide authentic flavor and texture to the community daily from 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The mobile model, which has already seen success in Santa Rosa and Napa, aims to make fresh staples more accessible in local neighborhoods. Early customers are already praising the convenience and the $3-a-pound price point.

It’s a hot new addition to the Sonoma Highway food scene that brings the factory experience straight to the curb.
