Singing Protest Leads to Detentions at Sonoma Board Meeting

Sonoma County deputies detained several immigrant rights activists Tuesday after they disrupted a Board of Supervisors meeting by breaking into song.

The demonstration occurred just before a scheduled vote on a policy to limit local cooperation with federal immigration authorities. The singing followed a larger outdoor rally where advocates demanded stricter sanctuary protections for the community.

Proceedings were briefly halted while deputies cleared the room.
