The family of 43-year-old Desiree Fuentes is speaking out after she and a close friend, Terry Harris, were found dead in a suspected Easter Sunday carjacking.
According to the Press Democrat, two Clearlake residents now face first-degree murder charges as investigators piece together the double homicide that followed a routine traffic stop.
Fuentes’ children say they are devastated, as they had just begun a “new beginning” with their mother, who was known for her infectious laugh and deep ties to the local Native American community. While the family seeks justice in court, they are also focused on securing guardianship for Fuentes’ teenage daughter. A memorial service is being planned in Santa Rosa to honor the victims’ lives.
The two suspects are scheduled to appear in a Lake County courtroom this Tuesday.
