A high-speed collision in Novato early Saturday morning has claimed the life of one teenager and left four others hospitalized with serious injuries.
Police report that a 17-year-old driver struck a utility pole at the intersection of San Marin Drive and Simmons Lane around 1:00 a.m. All five occupants, ranging in age from 16 to 18, were rushed to the hospital, where one victim tragically passed away.
School officials have identified the teens as current or former students from high schools in the Rohnert Park area. While one survivor has been stabilized, three others remain in critical condition as investigators look into the cause of the crash.
