Sonoma County Launches Mobile Offices to Bring Essential Services to Rural Neighborhoods

Sonoma County has officially launched “Open Doors Mobile Services,” a new program using two 24-foot converted vans to bring government resources directly to residents.

Staff from three county departments will travel to rural areas to help people apply for food assistance, healthcare, and child support services on-site. The initiative aims to eliminate transportation barriers for those living far from central offices in Santa Rosa.

Mobile service days begin April 21st in Cloverdale, followed by stops in Windsor and Healdsburg later this spring. Officials say the $800,000 program is a major step in making county support more accessible and equitable for all.

Residents can find the full schedule of upcoming neighborhood visits at OpenDoorsSC.com.
