Midnight Pursuit Ends in Felony Charges for Petaluma Resident

A late-night high-speed chase ended in handcuffs early Sunday morning after a 22-year-old local man led police through the streets of Petaluma.

Per the Petaluma Argus-Courier, officers attempted to stop a gray BMW for traffic violations near East Washington Street, but the driver, Logan Jimenez, reportedly sped off and ignored multiple signals.

The two-mile pursuit ended when Jimenez abandoned his car on Ponderosa Drive and fled on foot, only to be apprehended a quarter-mile away. Police say Jimenez showed clear signs of drug and alcohol impairment and was found carrying a suspected controlled substance.

He has been booked into Sonoma County Jail on multiple charges, including felony evading and DUI.
