The “Egg Basket of the World” lived up to its name this weekend as thousands gathered under cloudless skies for the annual Butter & Egg Days parade.
Per the Petaluma Argus-Courier, this year’s festivities leaned into the semiquincentennial spirit with the theme “America’s Birthday—Petaluma Style,” featuring a star-spangled procession of classic cars, marching bands, and chicken-suited unicyclists. Highlights included the “Cutest Little Chick” float and creative displays like a balloon-filled bathtub for a rubber chicken, all celebrating the city’s deep agricultural roots.
Local volunteers described the conditions as “picture-perfect” as the smell of garlic fries and farm animals filled the downtown air. From the Petaluma Garden Club in yellow chicken feet to a patriotic “Cluck Yeah America” float, the event showcased the community’s signature blend of small-town charm and quirky humor.
Officials say the massive turnout and flawless weather made this one of the most successful parades in recent memory.
