Over 200 supporters gathered at the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts on April 11th for the 23rd annual “The Art of Dessert” fundraiser.
According to the Press Democrat, the event successfully raised $1 million, which will fund over 20 transformative arts and education programs serving 50,000 students across Sonoma County.
Beyond the high-stakes live auction, local bakeries competed in a celebrated cake competition, with Oliver’s Markets taking home the top Judges’ Award. These vital funds support year-round initiatives, including the center’s popular mariachi and ballet folklórico programs and its massive instrument-lending library.
LBC President Lora Unger praised the community’s generosity, noting that the event ensures local children continue to have access to professional musicians, artists, and summer camps.
This year’s achievement brings the event’s lifetime total to over $8 million raised for local youth.
