Hundreds Celebrate Día del Niño at Lively Festival in Santa Rosa

Despite chilly temperatures, families packed Santa Rosa’s Old Courthouse Square on Sunday for the third annual Día del Niño Festival.

Per the Press Democrat, organized by local radio station La Maquina Musical, the event honored the Mexican tradition of “Children’s Day” with a toy giveaway, martial arts demonstrations, and a popular “crazy hair” contest.

While children danced to live music and enjoyed food truck treats, community leaders showcased local sports and cultural groups like Ballet Folklórico. Organizers highlighted the importance of the celebration in providing a fun, goal-oriented environment for the city’s youth. The festival concluded with raffles and live norteño music, marking another successful year of community bonding.

The event remains a highlight for local families, bringing a colorful touch of Latin American culture to the heart of downtown.
