Petaluma’s popular outdoor gathering spot, The Block, is preparing for its final curtain call this week with a massive farewell celebration on May 9th.
According to the Petaluma Argus-Courier, owner Mark Hildreth says the “goodbye bash” will feature live performances from fan-favorite local acts, including The Hots and The Soulshake, to honor the venue’s nine-year legacy.
Since opening in 2017, the space has evolved from a simple food truck park into a community staple complete with a pizza oven, barbecue kitchens, and a full bar.
While The Block is officially closing its doors, the owners teased that the space will soon be handed over to a trusted group of “family” for a new chapter. Residents are encouraged to stop by during these final days for a last pint and to share memories of the venue.
The music and festivities kick off this Saturday for what promises to be one of the city’s biggest send-offs.
