A cohort of sixteen Petaluma businesses has officially earned the California Green Business Certification, marking a major milestone for local sustainability and environmental stewardship.
Supported by the City of Petaluma and Sonoma County, these businesses met rigorous statewide standards for energy efficiency, water conservation, and waste reduction. Supervisor Rebecca Hermosillo praised the group for taking measurable steps to lower their carbon footprint while boosting the local economy.
The achievement was fueled by a unique peer-to-peer collaboration, helping owners navigate green requirements and share eco-friendly operational strategies.
To celebrate this achievement, a free community event will be held on Tuesday, May 12, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Crooked Goat Brewing.
