A Petaluma man is in custody this morning after leading police on a high-speed chase through city streets late Saturday night.
The pursuit began near Lakeville Street after 68-year-old Antonio Gonzalez allegedly refused to pull over, reaching speeds of 65 miles per hour.
Officers managed to stop the vehicle near Casa Grande Road and Lakeville Highway, where Gonzalez was taken into custody without further incident. Investigators say the driver showed clear signs of drug impairment at the scene.
Gonzalez has since been booked into Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of felony evading and driving under the influence.
