Petaluma School Board Debates $40 Million Performing Arts And Housing Project

Petaluma City Schools is moving forward with plans for a major forty-million-dollar development next to Casa Grande High School.

According to the Petaluma Argus-Courier, the proposed “Crinella Project” features a five-hundred-seat performing arts center designed to serve students district-wide. Preliminary blueprints also include surprising additions, such as potential employee housing and a small new school facility.

School board trustees are currently split on whether the theater should be built on the high school campus or as a standalone community space. Funding for the massive project comes entirely from voter-approved school bonds passed back in November of 2024.

District leaders emphasize that the designs are still preliminary and will undergo further review by a planning committee.
