A 21-year-old Petaluma man is behind bars following an attempted ATM robbery that sparked a coordinated police hunt.
Per the Petaluma Argus-Courier, authorities say Aiden Kohn approached a victim from behind at the Wells Fargo Bank on South McDowell Boulevard, demanding cash after a brief physical altercation.
The victim fought back, prompting the masked suspect to flee on foot before allegedly stealing items from a nearby business. With the help of a witness and the Sonoma County Sheriff’s helicopter, Henry-1, officers tracked Kohn down near the Petaluma Community Center.
Kohn, who was already on probation for theft, was booked into county jail on charges of attempted robbery and probation violation.
