Bay Area Subway Franchisee, Already in Financial Trouble, Behind on Rent

An embattled Subway sandwich shop franchisee based in the Bay Area is facing more legal trouble. Since late September, Subway’s real estate arm has filed three separate civil complaints against John Meza, claiming he owes more than 100-thousand-dollars in back rent. Meza is already being fined almost a million dollars after an investigation determined he was failing to pay his teen employees their full wages and tips. He allegedly owes back rent for two Subway locations in Petaluma and one in Santa Rosa.
