Supervisor Chris Coursey Now Chair of the Board of Supervisors in Sonoma County

Amidst the storms, a new chair of the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors has been named. Third District Supervisor Chris Coursey was named Chair of the Board at the first board meeting of the year yesterday. As chair, Coursey will run board meetings, set the agenda, serve as board spokesperson and spearhead board work with county staff. Though formally voted in unanimously, the chair position traditionally rotates every year among the supervisors. Supervisor David Rabbitt was named vice chair and Supervisor Lynda Hopkins was named chair pro tem. Supervisor Susan Gorin was next in line for chair pro tem but nominated Hopkins instead as Gorin plans to retire at the end of her term at the start of 2025.
