A man has been arrested in Point Arena after assaulting two people by throwing rocks. On Sunday afternoon, Mendocino County Deputies received a disturbance call about an intoxicated man at the Point Arena City Park near the public bathrooms. As they responded, report came in that the man was throwing rocks at people. Deputies found the suspect, Alejandro Ortiz, yelling at a person and holding a large rock. They managed to disarm Ortiz and arrest him. Two men in their 60’s were injured. One man had to be taken to the hospital and the other refused medical care. There were also two vehicles damaged by the rocks thrown.
