Push Made to Create National Park for Cesar Chavez

Lawmakers want to create a multi-state national park to honor farm labor leader Cesar Chavez. The bill introduced yesterday would create the Cesar E. Chavez and the Farmworker Movement National Historical Park. Park sites include historically significant places like Kern County and Delano, where the farm worker march started in 1966. The national park would also include the Santa Rita Center in Phoenix Arizona. Today would have been Chavez’ 96th birthday.
