Sonoma County Supervisors Approve $250,500 in Mental Health for Students

A quarter-of-a-million dollars has been approved by the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors for student mental health. The money will go to behavioral health services in schools partnered with the Sonoma County Office of Education. It will initially fund four new county positions and will provide school-based behavioral health support and interventions to schools in Sonoma County. The funding comes from Measure O, a 2020 sales tax measure to fund mental health and homelessness services. A program to address youth substance-use disorder is also being developed with assistance from $2.4 million in Measure O funds.
