The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors is approving more than seven-point-one-million-dollars for affordable housing and homelessness initiatives. The money will be handed out in the form of grants for community development projects. The grants are going to 25 entities and cities in Sonoma County. They will use it to help the homeless, promote fair and affordable housing initiatives, and provide rental assistance. The largest chunk of the money is coming from federal Community Development Block Grants. The largest contribution, more than two-point-four-million-dollars, is going to a 71-unit affordable housing project in the city of Sonoma.
