A large check will be presented to the Caritas Center tomorrow. Assemblymember Jim Wood will present Catholic Charities of Santa Rosa with a check for $5 million from the state to help launch Caritas Center in its first year. The Center opened last fall and provides multiple wrap-around services that will help participants navigate their journey to permanent housing, while also preventing at-risk people from falling into homelessness. It has a 192-bed family shelter as well as childcare, a healthcare clinic, drop-in center and 38 recuperative beds. Assemblymember Wood saying that the funding “will be instrumental in building the Caritas Center infrastructure.”
