Construction of the long-awaited Petaluma Crosstown Connector is expected to start in 2026. In a vote this week, the city council directed city staff members to move forward with the Caulfield Bridge Crosstown Connector Project. The city still needs to sign a contract with an engineering design firm, which will perform further design and environmental review work. The 300-foot movable bridge will cross over the Petaluma River. City officials hope it will ease traffic congestion and improve crosstown connectivity.
