Taco Bell is being fined thousands of dollars for violating California’s gift card law. Sonoma County District Attorney Carla Rodriguez announced the settlement on Wednesday. The fast-food chain must pay 85-thousand-500 dollars for not letting customers cash out gift cards valued at less than ten dollars. California allows people to exchange gift cards with a remaining balance of less than ten dollars for cash. It follows a complaint filed by the district attorney’s offices of Sonoma, Los Angeles, and Ventura Counties.
